Thorough controls are carried out before exportation:
  • nOptical rotation:
    provides assurances that the gum has not come from other tree species
  • nMoisture content:
    no more than 12-14 % is permitted
  • nForeign matter content:
    no more than 3-5 % is permitted
  • nColor (specific parameters)
  • nViscosity (specific parameters)
  • nMicrobiological count:
  • nTests for Salmonella, Escherichia coli and Staphyloccus aureus should be negative
